Byron, Wyoming is a friendly town situated between two beautiful mountain ranges. To the south sits the Shoshone River, and on the north you'll find oil rich sand hills. Byron is a short drive away from the Big Horn Reservoir, and is surrounded by miles of farm land. Byron was settled by a group of pioneers from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on May 22, 1900. The town is named after Byron Sessions, a leader of the first group of settlers. Sessions was tasked with surveying and overseeing the building of the Sidon canal, which brought water to the community. |
